Christmas in Pictures

The Byrds have been a busy family over the last few days! We got a new camera at our first Christmas celebration in Lebanon, so no pictures of that one since the old camera was broken, but it was a fun time with LOTS of family! Here is the rest...

We kicked off Christmas Eve with a visit to Mimi.

Then headed to my parents house where Will couldn't keep his hand out of the nuts and bolts (our family's version of chex mix.) Whoever had the bowl was the person he wanted to sit with!

Sitting between Lu and Buck, eating of course. We quickly learned that present opening wasn't the most exciting thing for him this year, though he liked to play with the tissue paper, boxes, books and toys after someone else had opened them!

Posing with the aunts, Anna first.

Then Susan.

Back home late that night to get ready for Christmas morning at our house. Next year there will be two stockings! Hard to believe!

After church we headed to Brownsville for Christmas with Rob's family. Will was right in the middle of things!

He and Lily actually played together without him injuring her! For the most part anyway.

Then back to Big Byrd and Byrdie's house where they put on their matching pajamas (thanks Byrdie!) and opened more presents.

We got pics with both grandparents!

Opryland

Saturday we took Will for his first Christmas at Opryland. We went to see the lights the night we got engaged, so the first year we were married we decided we would make it a tradition. We didn't get to go last year because of our sweet newborn, so I was excited to go back!

He kept looking at Rob instead of at me, but I think it's cute!

Doesn't he look excited?

Hair Cut!

Will finally got his hair cut today! He was so good and didn't cry at all. She was great with him and very quick so I think he was just trying to figure out what was going on and didn't have time to get upset. Now for some before and after pictures!

The first three are from breakfast this morning. It was over his ears, way down his neck, and just everywhere!

And now for the haircut!

He doesn't look happy here, but he never whined at all, he didn't make a sound, just looked around the whole time!

I had my arm up to hold him in the chair and keep him from throwing his arm up to feel what was going on!

He was checking out the hair that was hitting the floor.

Yep, all that hair covering my hand and the drape is his, there was a lot!

All done! Much better! He looks like such a big boy now!!

Sickness

Well November has been a month of sickness around here. Will caught his first big cold at the beginning of November and and it lasted for two weeks. I had it too so we were both sickly. After two weeks he seemed better from about Saturday to Tuesday, but he never really started eating like he had been. By the Wednesday before Thanksgiving he wasn't really eating at all and was starting to get fussy. When we got up on Thanksgiving Day he had some suspicious looking spots on his back and we started to worry that maybe he had chicken pox. My cousin had a brand new baby and we didn't want to spread our sickness so we left and went home. Friday morning we found out that he had a double ear infection from the long cold and hand, foot, and mouth disease. We started on amoxicillin the day after Thanksgiving and on the 8th day of meds he broke out in a big time rash. Turns out he's allergic to penicillin, something that I had been looking for because Rob is too. So our poor boy has spent a whole month being sick, and the ear infection is still there. We are starting new meds tomorrow and our rash is getting much better!

Now some fun pictures to make up for the long post about sickness!

We got a new rug for our den and Will was SO excited. He crawled around on it for about an hour and just loved it!

We went to the park when he was feeling slightly better one day. He loved swinging. It was windy so we wore a hat to avoid ear infection. Obviously we got one anyway!

Helping with the Christmas tree.

I ran to get something and came back to this. But he did help me pick them up and put them back.
