We're Still Here!

So I obviously haven't met my once a week quota this last couple of weeks, but I have good reasons. Last week Will and I went to Jackson for a couple of days and while we were there I got the news that my aunt passed away. No telling how many nights I spent at her house growing up and she was just what you want in an aunt, fun to talk to and always making you laugh and dispensing good advice. Needless to say, it made for a tough rest of the week. I wanted to snap my fingers and be back in Fayetteville immediately but of course that was impossible. Still I wanted to get there as quickly as possible and this was one of those times when you realize that a baby really changes the way you do things. By Wednesday morning Will and I were driving from Jackson to Nashville, where we got clothes and took a break from the car seat, and then Nashville to Fayetteville in a few hours time. Will was a champ throughout all of this and didn't cry once while spending over 4 hours in the car.

Will didn't sleep well Saturday night and by Monday morning had a fever. We went to the doctor who determined that it's just a virus. We've spent the last couple of days and nights being sad and fussy, but today he's much better and the fever is all gone! No great pictures because the camera hasn't really been out with everything going on...but here's a peek at sick boy.

I got a smile Monday even though he was not feeling good.

This was before we went to the doctor, not too happy!

Sweet boy resting today, finally feeling a little better!

Fun in Faytown

Last week Will and I went to Fayetteville for a little family visit so we couldn't update because internet is SLOW there. But now we're back and we had a great time! He had numerous babysitters as I took trips to eat Mexican, watch the 50's show, and watch Susan ride a show horse. It was fun for him and for me!!

My mom had an exersaucer at her house and he liked it a lot. This was his first time... a little unbalanced and unsure!

Much happier once he figured it out!

Checking out some of the toys.

By the last day he was just hanging out playing away!

When we go visit Will takes his bath in the sink...he likes just sitting around in there, even with a rag on his head! If you notice that he has his hands in his mouth in a couple of these that's because he has his hands in his mouth ALL the time! He loves to eat them! Maybe teething? I don't know.

Saturday Stroll

I have been loving some warm weather lately because it gives Will and I a chance to get outside for a little while. Today we went walking for about an hour but it was REALLY warm and sunny so I put a sun hat on him and I tried to keep the little canopy on his stroller covering up most of him. This is before we left.

This is when we got back. He must have enjoyed the stroll because he went to sleep about halfway through and snoozed until we got home.

In other news, he's started hugging his burp cloths as he goes to sleep for naps and bedtime. I thought this must mean he was ready for one of the cute little lovey's he has, and he has quite a few! But I've tried that and he has no interest, only the burp cloths. Any burp cloth will do but he knows when you try to sneak in a nice soft or silky little blanket.

Bouncing

Today I set up Will's Johnny Jump Up and he really liked it. He got in a couple of times and he can't really jump but he tries to walk and he turns in circles. I'm pretty excited about this because he used to sit in his vibrating chair while I cooked but he's tired of that because he can't do anything and he can only hang out in the bumbo for so long before he gets tired and starts to fall over. Hopefully he can practice his walking and jumping skills while I cook!

Rainy Day Pictures

Today we went and got some three month pictures made of Will. I wasn't sure where to get them and didn't want to spend a lot so we went to JC Penny and got a great deal. I've had a sweet woman from my church in Fayetteville give me a photo shoot for a baby gift but I want to save it for six months so he can be outside on the farm. Since I want to get the 3, 6, 9 pictures this seemed like the best option.

Our appointment was at 11:20 so that I would have plenty of time to get him ready and get to Mt. Juliet. We made it with time to spare but it was pouring and freezing when we got there. I had to get the stroller out in the rain and get him in it without getting him soaked. He was a champ and just went right along with things. We got inside and I got him changed into his pretty outfit and waited for pictures to start. He was pretty good for his pictures but no smiles and a dirty diaper right in the middle of picture taking! We finished up and had another dirty diaper before we could get our pictures picked out and get going, but Will was great for the whole process.

Below is my favorite, for some reason his hair looks kind of red in all of these pictures but it doesn't really seem that way in person...

3 Months

Will at 3 months is...

1. Starting to play with toys! He will play under his little play gym for a few minutes at a time and he will grab his colorful ball and move it.

2. Drooling!!! He has suddenly started drooling all the time. It's everywhere now, on him and me and anything he touches or leans over.

3. Sleeping! We are finally starting to get a relatively normal sleep schedule. He goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 and gets up between 4:30 and 5. The only challenge is getting him to stay in bed from about 7:45 to 8:30. He wants to wake up and be rocked for a little while, and that's not really how bed time goes!

He's a pretty happy baby from the time he wakes up until about 5:30. From 5:30 to bedtime he just acts tired and sleepy and it makes him fuss, but I'm sure he'll get over this. We still don't have a set daytime schedule but he usually takes at least one good nap and then a few other short ones. He laughs and plays and LOVES bath time. If he could stay in the bath all of the time I'm pretty sure he'd never cry!

Some pics at 3 months...

This is some time on the changing table, it's another of his favorite places and we always have to spend a few minutes playing before we go on with our day.

So obviously I don't know how to rotate but this was him in his Pujols onesie. For those who aren't MLB fans (that would be me) Albert Pujols is the Cardinals first base player and best batter. Apparently lots of West TN people are Cardinals fans, and Rob is one of them. He's had this since last August so it was exciting that it fits now.

First Post

I've been talking about making a blog since before Will arrived, and tonight I've finally gotten around to doing it. I'm hoping to blog at least once a week if not more. This way our family and friends can see pictures of Will and hear about his milestones, plus I'll always be able to look back and see what he was doing. Since this is my first post I don't really know how to add pictures yet so you'll have to bear with me as I figure things out!

This (hopefully it will be there) is a picture of Will after bath time. It's actually from a few weeks ago when he was watching Rob do sit-ups in the floor while he did tummy time.
